blondeee replied: "digoxin 25 mg qod -Take with water, do not stop med without speaking to health care provider for conditions may worsen. furosemide 20 mg daily - Drink Plenty of water, tell health care provide if you have trouble urinating, do not take longer then prescribed and test blood with this medication to make sure levels are normal. warfarin 5mgs. - alert bracelet stating that you are taking warfarin, in case of emergency, careful not to eat certain foods, or ingest too much vitamin K, do not have anything w/ cranberries. Avoid dieting. Drink glass of water."

Pangolin replied: "PATIENT, NOT CLIENT!!! "Patient" is not a dirty word. Lawyers have clients. Accountants have clients. Doctors and nurses have patients. It's OK to say it. BTW, each of those instructions is important. I don't know how (or why you would want to) make any of this information more important than the rest of it."

absolt123 replied: "It's a tough call, but I would say B is probably the most important as it is a) not necessarily obvious that this needs to be looked out for b) potentially very serious if ignored"

John de Witt replied: "There are problems, especially with beta blockers and warfarin, and it would certainly be better if they weren't used in pregnancy. That said, there's really no choice here, since the health of the mother is the most important determinant of fetal outcome. Her doctors are making the best of a bad lot, in a bad situation. It's hard, but that's the bottom line."

Laredo replied: "Your question is a bit confusing; you, being apparent male, are asking something about pregnancy after mitral valve replacement heart surgery. Are you asking is it okay for you to impregnate someone while you are taking those medications, or are you asking if it is safe for a female to get pregnant while taking those medications? Atenolol is the generic brand of Tenormin which is used to treat angina and hypertension. "THIS MEDICINE CAN CAUSE HARM TO AN UNBORN BABY" is the warning about taking the medication during pregnancy."

I take Warfarin, for life. I am also taking Furosemide, Airomir, Ramipril, Symbicort, are these free ? i only ask, because there are 8 items costing £7.20 each = £57.60p I am taking these for the rest of my life. Can i get an exemption ?

bennachie1 replied: "http://www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/1127.aspx see above for info on a pre pay scheme and ask your doc / pharmacy about an exemption - you may be entitled to an exemption depending on why they rae prescribed. see also there is a download doc in PDF format regarding info for docs about exemption certs for those with ongoing conditions."

Huge replied: "What a stupid question you do not normally pay all that if you need multiple drugs and have a problem paying. Of course if you do not want to take them then do not bother your Dr with your prescription. You can always go private and pay lots more for your prescription and perhaps save a penny or two on the drugs. The choice is yours"
